Ricuras Ecuadorian Bakery
About This Spot
Stepping into Ricuras Ecuadorian Bakery, you find yourself drawn into a quietly vibrant corner of the Bronx, where familiar city sounds soften against the warmth spilling from the bakery’s door. This is a cozy, unpretentious spot where the pace slows enough to savor simple pleasures—hearty aromas, shared smiles, and a genuine sense of place.
The space feels intimate, a modest neighborhood nook that invites both quick takeout visits and the occasional leisurely meal at a small table. Amid the soft clatter of dishes and the gentle murmur of conversation, there’s a comforting rhythm: the kitchen crafting traditional Ecuadorian flavors with care, the steady flow of locals and families who return not just for food, but for a taste of home.
Here, the menu unfolds like a quiet story of Ecuador’s rich culinary heritage. A bowl of seca de pollo or the tender embrace of guatita offers more than nourishment—it offers connection. Tostones, empanadas filled with plantain, and seafood soups echo the diversity of coastal and mountain regions, while drinks like the lightly carbonated Ecuadorian soda add just the right touch of nostalgia and refreshment.
The experience at Ricuras is grounded in familiarity and the joy of shared traditions. Even small details—the way the rice and lentils accompany each plate, the comforting heft of a well-made bolón, or the sincerity in how service is delivered—make it a place where people come to feel rooted, if only for a meal’s length.
Though parking nearby might cause a slight pause for those driving through, once inside, the welcoming atmosphere outweighs any hassle. It’s a place where you don’t just eat—you quietly soak up a community’s flavors and stories, returning again whenever the craving for something genuinely comforting calls you back.

Look for my car tip at the end. Late in the day I didn't eat and found this local Ecuadorian location. I made a good choice. It had a couple of tables but was really made for takeout and delivery. Service was excellent and recommended an Ecuadorian soda tropical, it was not too sweet and light carbonation (Ecuadorian version of pepsi). The chicken was thing juicy and tasty. The lentil beans was a so so good and a good change from other beans. The sauces were good too but if you don't like spicy look out of the green but K liked it alot. The chicken was a little extra salty that's why r stars so remember to say not too much salt of that's an issue. TIP I used my $2.79 with shipping $10 steering wheel tray bought on AlibabaExpress.
